What it is
Paste a prospect's URL — we scrape their page and Outerank drafts a fully personalized cold-pitch email referencing their actual content. Generate a single email (2 credits), a 3-step follow-up sequence (2 credits), or find real email addresses with a live email lookup (7 credits). Outreach v2 (Phase 1+2+3) adds full sending: connect your own Gmail via OAuth, bulk-add prospects (paste box OR CSV import from Apollo/Hunter/LeadMagic/Snov with auto-column-detection), schedule sends with timezone-aware dispatch, auto-detect replies via IMAP, respect unsubscribes globally, and warm your inbox up gradually to stay out of spam. Three background jobs handle it: one sends scheduled emails when they're due, one checks your inbox for replies and marks those campaigns Replied, and one ramps up the daily send volume of new inboxes.
Why it matters
Generic cold pitches have a <2% reply rate. Personalized ones hit 8–15%. The personalization is what works; the problem is it takes 15 minutes per prospect to read their site and write something custom. Outreach Engine collapses that to 30 seconds per prospect.
How to use it (step-by-step)
Follow these in order. Each step is 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
Paso 1
Prospects arrive here from three other modules
Backlink Monitor sends lost links over for recovery, Competitor sends gap prospects, and the Backlinks prospect finder sends sites worth pitching. In every case the domain lands in the box, the pitch angle is preset, and a violet note tells you which module sent it and why. A 'Clear' link empties it if you'd rather start from scratch. Landing here is always free — Draft is the paid step.
Paso 2
Get prospects from the Backlinks module
Use the AI link-prospect finder in the Backlinks module, then copy a prospect URL. Or paste any blog / podcast / journalist page directly.
Paso 3
Pick a pitch angle chip
6 canonical angles — guest post / link insert / link restore / tool collab / podcast / resource page. Click the chip and the AI prompt is steered for that angle. Free text still works for anything else. Sticking to the chips is worth it: the reply-rate breakdown groups by angle, so a typo'd one-off angle becomes its own lonely bucket and tells you nothing.
Paso 4
Click 'Draft single email' (2 credits)
Outerank reads their page and writes a peer-tone subject + body. If the draft fails our quality check (length, AI-authorship leaks), you are NOT charged — the credit refunds automatically.
Paso 5
Or 'Draft 3-step sequence' (2 credits)
Initial + 2 follow-ups, each shorter with a fresh angle. Refund-on-fail applies per step.
Paso 6
Find their email with 'Find emails' (7 credits)
A live lookup of the email addresses published for the domain, each with a confidence score and role. We only charge when at least one email comes back — empty results refund. If live lookup is temporarily unavailable, an amber banner says so explicitly (instead of a silent 'no emails').
Paso 7
Copy → send from your own inbox → track status
We don't send for you on purpose (better deliverability + you keep sender reputation control). Mark Sent → Replied → Declined; auto-stamped timestamps power the funnel chart.
Paso 8
v2 — Connect your Gmail inbox (OAuth, one click)
Under 'Connected inboxes', click 'Connect Gmail'. You'll bounce to Google's consent screen, then back to Outerank. Your OAuth tokens are Fernet-encrypted at rest. From then on, every 'Send' button ACTUALLY sends from your Gmail — no copy/paste. Disconnect any time.
Paso 9
v2 — Bulk-add prospects (paste OR CSV)
Instead of one URL at a time, use the 'Bulk add' section. Two ways in: (1) paste a comma/tab/semicolon-separated block from Apollo or a spreadsheet — the 'Fill from clipboard' button auto-parses it. (2) 'Import CSV' — upload a CSV/TSV file from Apollo, Hunter, LeadMagic, Snov, or anything else. Header row is auto-detected and columns are mapped (Email / Name / Company / URL / Notes). Duplicates within the project are skipped automatically. Cap: 5,000 rows per file, 8 MB.
Paso 10
v2 — Schedule sends (Phase 2)
Instead of firing immediately, hit 'Schedule send' on any draft. Pick a date + time in your own timezone. Outerank checks every minute for sends that are due and sends them from your connected inbox. Cancel anytime before it goes out.
Paso 11
v2 — Auto reply detection (Phase 3)
Once you've sent, Outerank checks your inbox hourly and looks for replies in the same thread. When one lands, the campaign auto-flips to 'Replied' (and the follow-up sequence is auto-cancelled so you never accidentally follow up on someone who already answered).
Paso 12
v2 — Respect the unsubscribe (outreach_unsubscribes)
Any recipient who clicks the unsubscribe footer lands in a global outreach_unsubscribes table. From then on, that email is refused across every project — you cannot accidentally re-add them via bulk-import. Legal + deliverability both need this.
Paso 13
v2 — Inbox warmup
A brand-new Gmail sending 100 cold emails on day 1 = spam folder guaranteed. Outerank gradually ramps the daily send cap for a newly-connected inbox (5 → 10 → 25 → 50 → 100 over ~14 days) so Google trusts you're a real sender.

- →Sender-domain reputation auto-runs on your project URL. If you see an amber banner saying you scored C/D, fix SPF/DMARC first or your pitches will land in spam.
- →The 'Reply rate by pitch angle' panel reveals which angle YOUR niche actually responds to — double down on the top one and abandon the bottom one.
- →Edit every draft. Personality and specifics matter more than perfect grammar.
- →When the scrape banner says 'JS-only site', don't burn 2cr drafting against empty context — pitch from their /about page directly instead.
- →Follow-up 1 brings ~30% of replies. After Follow-up 2, mark declined and move on — preserving sender reputation beats one more ping.
- →Import your Apollo CSV directly. Column mapping is automatic — Email, Name, Company, URL, Notes get detected from the header row. Save time versus pasting one at a time.
- →New Gmail = warmup mandatory. Let the warmup run 10–14 days before you push a 100-email batch through it. Skipping this is the #1 way to trash a fresh inbox.

- Prospect
- A website or person you want a backlink or mention from.
- Pitch angle
- The hook of your email — what you're offering (guest post, collaboration, a resource they should link to).
- Cold email
- An email to someone who doesn't know you yet. Personalization is what makes it work instead of getting deleted.
- Follow-up sequence
- A series of emails (here: 1 initial + 2 follow-ups). Most replies come from the follow-ups, not the first send.
- Email confidence
- A 0–100% score for how likely an email address is correct/deliverable. Aim for 80%+.
- Connected inbox
- A Gmail account you've authorized Outerank to send from, via Google OAuth. Tokens are Fernet-encrypted at rest. Disconnecting revokes access immediately.
- Bulk add
- Add many prospects in one shot — paste a comma/tab/semicolon-separated block, or upload a CSV/TSV file. Duplicates within the project are skipped automatically.
- CSV import
- Upload a CSV/TSV from Apollo, Hunter, LeadMagic, Snov or anything else. Columns are auto-detected from the header row (Email required; Name, Company, URL, Notes optional). The source label is auto-set from the filename. 5,000-row / 8 MB cap per file.
- Scheduled send
- A draft campaign queued to go out at a specific date+time in your own timezone. Outerank checks every minute for due sends and sends them from your connected inbox.
- Reply detection
- Outerank checks your connected inbox every hour. When a reply lands in the same thread as a sent campaign, the campaign auto-flips to Replied and any queued follow-ups are auto-cancelled.
- Unsubscribe (global)
- Any recipient who clicks unsubscribe lands in the outreach_unsubscribes table. From then on, that email is refused across every project — you cannot accidentally re-add them via bulk import.
- Inbox warmup
